maybe it's just me

it's so tragic that i am not very, very rich, because i'd buy all these prints without a second thought. when i was at columbia, i took some art history classes where i'd get in protracted fights with the dumbass teacher who proposed that winogrand and atget 'didn't count' because their ouevre (only assholes use this word) was 'too wide'. huh?!?
i actually bought a winogrand print from the library of congress (they have a couple of negatives and will set you up with a print for around $40). i got a walker evans print this way too and they bring me much happiness.
