So Good

ted.jpgelec.jpgbruce.jpgslf.jpg

I just got back from seeing Ted Leo & Electrelane at the Logan Square Auditorium. The opening band Perfect Panther was painfully bland (if that's possible) but, oh boy, how good were the other two? So good. Please forgive me for being adjective-ly challenged right now. Blame it on tinnitus. Electrelane covered Springsteen's I'm On Fire. Ted Leo countered with Dancing in the Dark AND Stiff Little Fingers' Suspect Device. When I heard the opening chords I was besides myself. It was the first time during the show where I felt better for being quite a bit older that everyone else.

That place is so cool. The only problem, at least concert-wise is that the sound is kinda thumbs-down. The odds are stacked against it, what with the hardwood floors, high ceilings etc.

hey, rob . . . aren't you supposed to update this blog everyday? what are we supposed to do while prints print, if you give us nothing new to link to? . . . starting now, let's not take so many days off. ("let's" meaning "you".) thanking you in advance for your future infallability . . .

Consider the fire beneath my buttocks lit. Everyday or never. That is my pledge.

Just looking for others' takes on the TL show, and came across your blog. The SLF cover was tops; I found myself unexpectedly pogoing (briefly). I love great covers of great songs.

Sound must depend where you stand, 'cause I had a really good vibe for the TL set. Can't share your feeling on Electrelane, though. Bis minus fun = bad.

Thanks for the review.
