Among things to see & read in the SS/FG Forums at bikeforums.net, this has made me happy like no other. An mp3 of an Italian (I assume) man saying the names of Italian bike manufacturers correctly.

Thesis show behind-scheduling & food poisoning have kept me away. If you are my mom & are reading this, don't worry, I'm alright. I stayed in bed for 2 days & drank lots of fluids. I didn't hallucinate like last time but I did watch this documentary about the making of Fitzcarraldo which was sort of like hallucinating (either the original or the documentary, you pick, I'm tired).
Thanks to the inimitable Dave Williams, it only took 12 hrs to come up with Brian & Rebecca's info. Thanks also to you, Mr. or Mrs. Internerd.
Brian Willey. I do not have your phone number or your address (electronic or analog) in Austin. Both were lost in the Great Valubles Disappearence of Late 2005. Please email me your info so I can send you pictures & belated valentines. I hope I haven't missed your wedding either.
Likewise, if you or someone you love has his (their) info, please forward it to me.

I'm trying but keep getting distracted by peanut butter sandwiches & Whole Foods Black Cherry soda from my magic cabinet. Also, the internet.

You were totally wondering what I've been doing with all the spare time I have when I'm not in the studio pretending to work on my thesis project or hanging out with MC, so I decided to let you in on my secret.
I've been putting together a new bike, a winter bike that'll probably be done just in time for spring. The top photo is just after I finished sanding it, mostly by hand like a dimbulb. I have one tip other than an orbital sander: don't use a no-name angle grinder that makes scary noises & smokes if you use it for more than 25 seconds. The second photo is the frame hanging up in my drying room/the space over my desk after the 2nd coat of primer. The tip for this step: don't paint in the non-ventilated basement near the dryer with the electric ignition thing-y. Paint outside like everyone says you should. They are right.
I will keep you updated since I can see that you are eager for news.

Mat Daly has gone & got himself a nice little website. If you have money, you will go there & buy a print or, for those of you in the higher tax brackets, a painting. I would if I was you.
And yes, he counts as one of the 17 or 18 Matts that I know, even though he only has one T.

The gentlemen over at the Captain's Crate have put together two great mixes in honor of Ray Barretto, who also passed away last week.

Kirby Puckett was one of my favorite players when I was growing up because he seemed like he was having fun all the time & he was kind of chubby. His rookie card also played a role in one of my earliest attempts at "wooing" a girl. You could ask how but I probably won't tell you.

My chances of finding work with my MFA, at least historically, seem to not be v. good.
Also, the comments don't seem to work much. Something about questionable content. I'm not sure what's up with that. I need to ask somebody. If you want to comment, just email me. rob at lomblad dot net.

The trailer for Ask the Dust only confirms suspicions.
The trailer for Art School Confidential confirms nothing.

Cameron Crowe's Elizabethtown was very bad. I would have rather watched this bike for 123 mins.
