Can I put you on hold for a moment?

Cliptip reminds us that this song was maybe our favorite toe-tapper, ass-shaker from Tasty & not the Milkshake song.

Welcome to the late 20th century!

Up to my neck in bloggishness1, though now I can tell you what time it is without looking in my 21st century pocket.

1Yes, my skin crawls when I use the non-word "bloggishness". Again, I apologize.

It took 9 days to listen to Dear You

Fairly crushing photo essay about the children of Hurricane Katrina in today's Times Magazine by Brenda Ann Kenneally.

adahat.jpg

Fairly tame photos in the Style Magazine, incl. a couple of by Thomas Struth. The good stuff includes features on Mariko Mori & Alex Katz's wife & muse, Ada. I can't find the article on the website but this is the book Yale Press is publishing.

When We Were Kings

beardcore.jpg

Our beardcore band never really got off the ground. Limited audiophile pressing of "Drama in Slow Motion" on 240gm vinyl to remain unreleased, domestically or abroad. I blame it on my half-Asian, kung fu beard quality. I'm sorry I let you down.

Photos by Drew Wilson (Left).

I know you know that the Times Sunday magazine has its share of fine photography but what of Play, the sports quarterly (?)? It has it going on as well. No slack on the written word neither. This day's issue features an appreciation of Roger Federer by our favorite, David Foster Wallace. The regular also has a spot on Outkast & a few photos of Lebanon, incl. a stunning opener of a bombed bridge, by Simon Norfolk.

The doctor performs surgeries upon my flip-flop whilst it is still upon my left foot!

Deadwood makes the humid afternoon pass among vulgarites & fine language too.
